Two things occurred to us as we welcomed Bernadette's third calf on our farm:

1. This calf was spitting image of Contrail we he was born! It's unbelievable how much their colors change as they grow.  Now he's darkened up and has a great blend of colors/

2. He is one strong and sturdy little guy.  However, we had to wean this little fella off mom a little sooner than we wanted which has caused him to fall off behind his half-brother.

We considered naming him Carbon because he's the carbon copy of Contrail (good thing we didn't), but we soon welcomed a second bull calf on the farm just eight days later. With the second calf being his half-brother, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to name them after the Wright Bros.  Being the older brother, this handsome fella was named Wilbur. With Bernadette (Blind Date) and Abe (Torn Marks) as parents, he comes from sturdy and promising stock.  Come pick him up today for a potential herd sire or you can band him for a solid steer.  He will be weaned and ready to take home in July.
